A Butterfly lights beside us like a sunbeam
And for a brief Moment it's Glory
And Beauty belong to this world.
But then it Flies again,
And though we wish it could have stayed...
We feel lucky to have seen it.

Help raise money for CCRF
With only three minutes of your time you could raise $2.00. Three minutes to help fight Childhood Cancer in so many children. Please consider going to the following website in the month of September. With every video you watch, various sponsors in Minnesota will donate 25 cents to Children Cancer Research. Consider passing this website along as anyone can help us. If 50 people watch the videos, we would raise $100. Michael made a goal to get 25 of his family and friends to watch the video, we know of 17 people who have watched the videos to help him. Take three minutes to help another child!

Thank you, Thank you!
Hey everyone,
I just wanted to say THANK YOU to everyone who participated, pledged and supported Team Natalie in any way! With your help, we raised....are you ready for this.....drum roll please..... $5272.11. This is the most Team Natalie has ever raised! I haven't gotten a chance to sign on lately and update, Michelle has been helping with the blogspot to post updates and pictures! Thanks Michelle!!!!!
Team Natalie did it again, we Walked and Ran in memory of Natalie in the Time to Fly event put on by Children's Cancer Research Fund. CCRF is an amazing organization that is funding the leading research going on at the University of Minnesota for childhood cancer. They are working so hard to find a cure, and it has to be just around the corner! I just keep praying that it is!
Where do I start with the walk this year.... Well we were honored and blessed to have Natalie's twin sister and her Mom join us on the walk. That was awesome! For those of you who do not know the connection, Natalie and Daniella(her sister) were students of mine (a few years ago now) at Eastside Kindergarten. I also sang in a swing choir with their dad. Natalie and her 2 sisters are 3 of the most beautiful girls I know, inside and out. They have caring hearts and love for everyone, which is definitely a family trait passed on from their parents and other family members.
I am so proud and excited to see Team Natalie show up every year. We may change in shape and size, but the reason we are all there stays the same, so no one else has to suffer from this horrible disease! I love that Team Natalie has kids who are thinking about others and wanting to help people they do not even know! That's what its all about. I get so excited when I hear that Michael and Isabella went door to door asking for donations saying every dollar helps. They are right! And I had tears in my eyes when Jack ran across the finish line knowing he is running for those who might not be able to run it themselves.
I feel so honored and blessed to have such great friends and family, who are willing to come out and support me and this very worthy cause every year. Most of them did not have the chance to meet Natalie but she has forever changed their life, just as she did mine! Shortly after the walk this year I received an e-mail from Natalie's mom saying "Natalie would be proud!" I know she is right, Natalie would not want to see anyone suffer, she would help in any way she could, and I see Natalie in all those who help out with the Time to Fly event. The volunteers, the walkers, runners, the kids and their big smiles as they cross that finish line. I know she is just as proud of Team Natalie as I am. And with our help CCRF can continue their run of the race to find a cure! I'm proud of all of Team Natalie, Adults and Kids! Great Job Team Natalie! I love you all and can't wait till next years walk!
Love,
Amy

On Saturday, June 28, 2008, Team Natalie participated in the Children's Cancer Research Funds (CCRF)- Time To Fly. The day started with rain but we had a gap of sunshine while we walked the 5K. We had two new members under the age of 7 this year, who did a wonderful job. Isabella walked her first 5K. You did a fabulous job. Jack ran his first 1K. You did a great job, Jack!
This year we were honored to have some of Natalie's family walk with us. Everyone felt their support that day. Natalie's memory and spirit will always be with us.
Team Natalie is made up of about 14 people. It's amazing that 5 of those members are under the age of 18 years old. Our Team Natalie's little cherubs, work hard to raise money for CCRF. As well as the whole team. Team members, high five to you because.....all of you, raised $4917.00 to help fight childhood cancer. This is fabulous (Isabella's new word)!!!
Note our new shirts this year. As a team, we decided we needed to shout out our hearts with Natalie's memory. The butterfly on the shirts is a symbol CCRF uses to show the stages the children go through until they emerge as a new vibrant beautiful child. We used the butterfly because Natalie has emerge as a new beautiful angel for so many of us. The yellow tie die is for Natalie's favorite color.
Thank you to all of you who supported and sponsored us through this endeavor. You made an important impact on us as a team as well as helped so many children who are battling cancer right now. Thank you with all our hearts!
I'm leaving you with some food for thought: Cancer is the leading cause of death by illness in children. Are we going to let it lead us in life?

Time to Fly 2008
Summer is fast approaching and June 28th is coming soon. We welcome everyone to join Team Natalie and the walk for childhood cancer. We are looking forward to a wonderful walk. (maybe the rain will hold off this year!)
We held a fundraiser this year (THANKS MICHELLE for organizing it!) We had 4 wonderful ladies from 4 companies hold open house shows for the products they sell and the proceeds went to Team Natalie! We had a small turn out but with the bake sale, Pampered Chef, Tastefully Simple, Silpada, and Tupperware we raised over $400.00. I'll total it all and put our official total on here soon! Thanks Ladies for helping us raise money for this worthy cause, you are helping to save lives!
This year's team roster is: (we'll connect them to the personal pledge sites soon!)
Amy Olson
Julie Olson
Bev Ogilivie
Corinne Skellenger
Jack Skellenger
Colin Skellenger
Mary Buckett
Isabella Nyseth
Michael Nyseth
Michelle Nyseth
Hal Nyseth
Jinna Johnson
Betsy Johnson
Kathy Allen
Haley Walters
We are always looking for more people to join our team. So if you do not have plans on June 28th, please come join us. You do not have to collect pledges, you can just pay the registration fee and join us on our walk to save lives! This is Team Natalie's 4th year walking for this very worthy cause. Natalie is such an inspiration to me and in her short 8 years here on earth she made such a difference in my life and the lives of others she knew. It is remarkable how much you can learn from a child and Natalie is definitely one of my role models and I strive to be like her, accepting of everyone and so kind hearted. I challenge everyone to take a moment and think about all those children going through the struggles with Cancer and how they look at life. They are happy to be here, to be loved! Children can teach us many things if we slow down, watch and listen.
