Time to Fly 2008

I want to say a HUGE THANK YOU, to all those who supported us, contributed, walked, and prayed for us along the way. I am so very proud of all of you! I can't thank you enough. I know that not all of you knew Natalie, she was such a giving, caring, loving person, and being able to honor the memory of her in this way just means so much to me and to her family. This year we were lucky enough to have Michael Nyseth our first child to Run the Childrens run for cancer research, i'm so proud of you Michael! Team Natalie has had team members run the 5K, walk the 5K and also run the Childrens 2K. I am so Proud of Michael for his hard work training for his run as well and fundraising. I am so lucky to have my family support me in this as well...Last year my aunt, and cousins from Michigan we were town and walked and ran it. This year I had My Mom, Grandma Bev, and Cousin Haley walked with me. My Best friend Corinne and and her 2 sons (My Godsons) Jack and Colin walked. We had 2 people from my church, Jinna and Betsy and a friend of my Grandma's, Mary. We walked, laughed, and had so much fun. I have to say that having all these people walk with me to support such a great cause, makes me feel so blessed. Some of our top Fundraisers on our team were the kids, Michael, and Haley. To see kids care so much and want to help and make a difference is so awesome. We have had lots of people over the years walk or run with Team Natalie and I look forward to it every year. Not only family, but friends from work, choir and even friends of friends have come out to honor the memory of this special little girl. I just Thank you all fro mthe bottom of my heart. We are making a difference and we are helping with the fight against Cancer! Please keep Childrens Cancer Research Fund in your thoughts and prayers throughout the year. We might only walk for the fight against cancer one time of the year but they walk the fight all year long helping families and working with the University of Minnesota to come up with a cure.

Mark this date on your Calendars now! We'd love to have you join us for the Time to Fly 2008 Childrens Cancer Research Fund Walk. The date is June 28th, 2008. With your help, support and prayers we can make a big difference! Lets help them find a cure for Childrens Cancer! I hope to see you there! ~Amy

Time to Fly 2007

Team Natalie did great! We had a beautiful day to walk. Not like last year where it rained the whole time. We raised almost $3,000 for Children's Cancer and had fun while doing it! Thank you to all of you for your continued and generous support.

The 'riders' in our group prepare to give their mom a good workout. (and they succeeded!)

Our official cheering section- Bella & Michael

Team Natalie 2007 (L/R): Back row - Corinne, Jinna, Julie, Betsy, Beverly, Michael, Mary.
Front row - Amy, Colin, Haley, Jack.

Team Natalie this year spanned four generations! One of the underlying benefits to participating in this walk, is that each generation is teaching the other how to show support and care for those in need. We have so much fun watching the kids get so involved. Kids helping other kids just because they want to.

Crossing the finsh line!

The symbol of Children's Cancer Reserch Fund is the butterfly. To me it's more than a rebirth as something so beautiful and free. It's also the effect it can make on the world. One butterfly flaps it's wings and causes a tornado on the other side of the world. We can be that butterfly and have that level of an impact on the world. Our little team, with your support, can be that last little 'umph' needed to reach a cure for childhood cancer. ~ Corinne

Again a huge THANK YOU from us all!!

We're already planning next year's team fundraising. In the works: new fun ways to participate financially, physically and spiritually; plus we're going to make new shirts!! We'll be keeping this blog site live throughout the year so check back often for updates on the next planning phase and upcoming events.

Today... you can make a difference.

Team Natalie's Story
For those of you who might not know, Natalie was a friend and former student of mine. She was a fun loving, energetic, sweet, caring little girl. Natalie loved to play soccer, and enjoyed nature. Natalie had a smile that would instantly warm the room when she entered. Natalie passed away on June 3rd, 2005, of a Tumor in her Brain, she was 8 years old. This has been a great way for us to honor the memory of this special little girl and I'm so excited every year to have others join in this walk/run. What an awesome thing it has been to see our team grow and to raise money for the children's cancer research fund in memory of Natalie. This year will be Team Natalie's 3rd year raising money and walking/running for the cause, and we know that Natalie is with us every step of the way. Last year we recieved a team award for being the top fundraising team without a corporate sponsor. So I invite you to join us and walk or run as we work towards finding a cure and fighting cancer in children. Please check out The Childrens cancer research website for up to date info on cures and the steps they are making. Thanks so much for taking the time to visit this site. Please keep Team Natalie in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for your support,
Amy - Team Captain
